Comments: I have been using SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence for my data analysis needs for the past few years. While the setup process is complicated and can be expensive, I have found the software to be incredibly powerful and feature-rich. With its intuitive user interface and customizable dashboards, it has made analyzing data and uncovering new insights easier than ever.

Pros:

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence is an incredibly comprehensive and feature-rich BI solution. Cons:

It doesn't excel

It is too fragmentary a product with many different components which make it not very intuitive to use

Comments: In general it is a good tool, but it is becoming a bit outdated in the face of new alternatives.

Pros:

It is a tool that can be integreted with other applications, it can also work with a lot of data and build ad hoc reports. Finally, reporting creation from information cubes is friendly when youa are heavy user.

Cons:

Something that needs to be improved is the visualization of the reports, they should migrate to a more user-friendly dashboard. Another issue is that it is a bit complex to understand how it works when you just start using it.

Comments: A good tool, but with a medium learning curve for new users

Pros:

Possibility to apply to different regions of company operations in the world, make it standard. Crosschecks rules to ensure consistent reports

Cons:

No low code It demands techinal team queue to update business needs.

Easy and Convenient

Comments: It's easy and fun to drag and drop columns, but as I mentioned above, the Informatin Design Tool application is a bit slow. I recommend Sap Bo in general.

Pros:

I can easily find the solution in internet. And I can easily drag and drop the columns of the tables I selected in DFX to BLX.

Cons:

Comments: A key requirement in the company where I am an intern was to spend the first 3 months learning about data management and the company's business strategies, then I realized that as the main tool they used SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence to perform financial analysis and generate Reports for the accounting team. Although I was initially overwhelmed by the complexity of the tool, I was able to quickly overcome this learning curve thanks to its intuitive interface and the available training resources, as well as the support and teaching of the team in charge of that area. Using SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence, I was able to extract relevant data from different accounting systems, perform detailed analysis, and present the results in a clear and concise manner to the core team in charge of the company's business strategies. Key to this tool was its ability to generate customized reports and interactive dashboards, as this made it much easier for us to communicate financial information to stakeholders and improved decision-making and the efficiency of the accounting team. Honestly, it is a very powerful and reliable tool for a company, I hope to work with it again.

Pros:

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence from the short time that I used it and learned from its multiple functions, I must highlight its ability to collect, transform and visualize data from various sources in reports and interactive dashboards, as a work team these functions seemed impressive to us. In addition, this tool helped us with a wide range of functionalities, from standard reporting to advanced data analysis, which allowed us to deepen our understanding of the business and thus have a clear understanding of the company to work on. any area where data analysis and understanding is required.

Cons:

To be honest, I did not find such negative points about this tool, just external things such as how difficult it was to learn to use it, but this already depends on other factors external to it.

Best software for corporation monitor

Comments: The best solution for SAP users.

Pros:

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence is full of functions and features to control and monitor business, and high ability of customization.

Cons:

We face two concerns about it, the limitation of integrations with non-SAP modules. and its price is expensive.

Best reporting platform for non-power users

Pros:

BusinessObjects offered a wide range of reporting and analytics tools. Non-technical users could simply design a report, schedule it for timely refresh and get it delivered to the end-users in a fully automated way. SQL scripts also available to identify data sources, table connections etc...

Cons:

It takes time to fully discover and understand all the functionalities, but it will pay out on the long run. Data load takes longs when working with large databases.

The perfect B.I. for mid-size companies

Comments: It has been used as main reporting tool of the company: all the teams used to receive the automatic reports in the morning and all teams had the capability to generate on-demand reports.

Pros:

I appreciate above all its flexibility when I need to create ad hoc reports.It's very powerful, even if a bit complicated at the begining, and it really allows business users to drill down into data and get the information they need.

Cons:

It requires an adequate training in order to use it at its best.It's a bit complicated, especially to understand all its functionalities and reporting capabilities.

My life saver

Comments: My overall experience with SAP is great when it comes to keeping up with my information in neat manner.

Pros:

What I like most about this software is the many options to change how I view certain information.

Cons:

What I least like about the software is the feature is the delete certain information that not needed for good.

Tremendous reporting tool for client reporting

Comments: SAP Business Objects has been supporting our client delivery for quite some time now and works amazingly well. It provide quick reporting and integrates well with the mainstream applications.

Pros:

The ease at which the reports can be run and downloaded is very good. The extraction can be done in both pdf and excel depending on the requirement. The reports which have been run also show the specifications used in the reporting for the approver to verify.

Cons:

The scheduler is not very simple and might require some user guide to understand and schedule the reports. Also, the inbox reports tend to disappear at times and then have to be re-put in inbox.

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence - Good Visualization tool for SAP Eco System

Comments: This tool served really well for ad-hoc reporting scenarios where its WebI component provided some very easy to use features to create ad-hoc reports on the data sets that were connected to Business Objects. Creating dashboards and other visualizations was fairly easy as well.

Pros:

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence connects seamlessly with SAP backend. It can connect very well to SAP BW, SAP ECC etc which is always a challenge for other non SAP tools.

Cons:

Connecting to Non SAP databases need some additional efforts.

The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) you need

Comments: in general SAP is a tool that combines both reliability and performance with a reactive customer support, wide functional coverage and it is rather scalable

Pros:

The publication of certain financial and logistical information is very fast because all the data is available almost in real time.

Cons:

Management tool requiring a relatively high learning curve

Makes it easy to build complex queries without knowing SQL, I love it!

Comments: I use BusinessObjects every single day, multiple times a day. We are transitioning to start having all reporting come from BO as once the reports are setup and scheduled its "set it and forget it" in many cases. We put a lot of focus on automation and reducing the amount of time spent building custom reports and one-off analyses. So we have built numerous reports to support our sales team, operations teams, vendors, and c-suite that are all easily refreshed and filtered by the users on their own. And our analytics and reporting teams now have time to work on larger scope projects rather than being bogged down by requests.

Pros:

I love most everything about BusinessObjects. It's a great way for our employees to self-service in many cases as previously they had no way to get access to larger data sets unless they put in a request with analytics. But now our Directors have access to data and reports at their fingertips with minimal training (they don't need an in-depth understanding of databases or SQL queries to use the software).

Cons:

A con that is worth mentioning is that exporting large data sets can be a bit slow. But the ease of use and other benefits definitely outweigh that.

Cost Effective Simple Reporting Tool

Comments: Overall I am having a mixed feeling with respect to Business Object Intelligence. I am neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.

Pros:

In Business Objects the way you can build Universe and expose that as a self service tool for users to build their own reports gives it a cutting edge compared to other reporting tools. Being a SAP tool the customer support is good and it integrates well with other cloud platforms.

Cons:

The look and feel is not that great and it cannot match the dashboard features which are present in other reporting tools like for example Tableau.

Excellent Data Mining Tool

Pros:

The speed and ease of using SAP BI in c comfortable format (we use the Excel Inrerface)

Cons:

Sometime a pre-existing BI report does blow up and it leaves the report without a connection to BI. Report has to be recreated - no recovery.

Pros:

Cons:

Need to adopt some dynamic features like Tableau and Power BI

Comments: I have been using the tool from past 9+ years for the development of reports to our clients and the improvements to the overall BO product suite over a period of time are absolutely fantastic and you will have a wide range of products in the suite which will cater all your business requirements irrespective of the domain you are in
It is highly recommendable to the business who wants a better results,growth and improvements in the areas where they are lagging because the kind of visualizations and stunning dashboards that Business objects provides will give business head a clear cut idea on their improvement areas so that they can concentrate more on improvements and decision makings

It is ultimately a great product which sustained nearly a decade after SAP acquired now due to its tremendous capabilities and improvements in reporting and universe modelling and various versions of product releasing as and when required based on customers feedback Overall I would highly recommend SAP BO to any client be it small , medium and large due to its robust sizing guide lines this will be the best product and also this is one of the world's best reporting tool till date, no wonder after the introduction of SAP Design studio this will become the number one in the space of reporting Also I would like to mention about some of the important reporting tools in the product like WebIntelligence, SAP BO Exlorer, SAP Lumira which will definitely add an advantage to the organizations growth in providing the most thoughtful decisions on the fly to the clients Stunning,Astonishing,Intelligent and Beautiful Dashboards and Visualizations will only be possible with SAP Business Objects!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: Establishing a culture of self service analytics within the organization with initial training and support as and when required.

Pros:

SAP business objects is an easy to learn and use analytical tool especially in the context of self service analytics by end users. One is able to re-use the same query and also share the query with other users as well and modify the query at any given time for customization purposes. It is also fast.

Cons:

As with any new tool, there is an initial learning curve to get ramped up - however there is fairly good documentation available for this purpose. In addition, need good network bandwidth especially when there are multiple users trying to run queries at the same time

Used as Central Management Console

Pros:

We use SAP Business Objects in conjunction with Crystal Reports to provide web based links for our employees to run on their own within the constraints of the parameters. I like that it is easy to navigate and sort by file name. The organization of information is clear and straightforward and it is easy to customize how you want to see things.

Cons:

I wish there were options to add certain columns to your view. For example if I want to sort by name or last update, I can, no problem. But if i want to get any details on frequency or last time a user ran a report, i have to either go into the settings or run a report.

My Review of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence

Comments: My overall experience with SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence is good but needs some improvements.

Pros:

I like the drag and drop option at SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence which allows me to move windows and dashboards anywhere. Also, it allows me to fully control the graphs from assigning labels and legends to controlling the layout and format.

Cons:

There are a few documentation and tutorial online about SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence which makes it hard to learn. There is no web-based version of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence. Also, it is too expensive to buy the software.
