That's the only thing I ever used it for.. > > **Cons**: They have a predatory policy of requiring 14 days' notice to cancel the account if you don't want to be charged $325 (depending on your plan) for absolutely nothing. The reason I say this is predatory is because they neither send a simple courtesy reminder of payment coming due, nor can you even find any helpful details like this on your online account: renewal date, amount due, card on file--nothing. It's a very bare-bones site and seems purposefully circuitous to extort churches of their money. I was one day late in canceling because the month had gotten quite busy, and I hadn't precisely counted back from the end of the month and set a reminder for myself. Totally my mistake, but a simple mistake to make and customer service had been fairly helpful so far. I found the cancellation form and submitted it on a Friday. No acknowledgement of receipt the next week. I called the next Thursday, and someone set up a support ticket to get someone to email me, but still nothing. I had to respond to an old email to finally get someone to verify my cancellation, but two weeks later, they happily took next year's subscription fee for a Bundle 3 subscription. My account did not show a Bundle 3 subscription or how to update that. It only said "Starter, Protection Level 0" with a link to upgrade to a higher level. I've only ever used it to run background checks, so definitely not worth what we were paying for it, and it was easy to forget about since it's such a small part of my work. Zero consideration of even a partial refund. What a waste. > > Used it to do one simple thing. No way to view basic details about account on the site, and every update you make has to be done through a form on their support site. Support did their job well--they didn't make the policies. When I saw that we had a credit card charge for our annual subscription pending (no notification of impending renewal was sent by PMM), I called immediately to try to cancel and have the $325 refunded. I was told a refund was impossible because a 14 day notice of cancellation was required, and they also do not prorate subscription fees. It also took me a full week (a call, an email, and 3 more phone calls) to contact the customer service manager to verify that this is their absolute policy that has been in place for about a year. He said they notified all of their clients at the time of their policy shift so they owe us nothing. BUYER BEWARE. Once I remember the steps to do a background check for someone it is not that difficult to get the email verification sent out to people.
