We paid the onboarding fee but quickly realized within three business days that the platform wasn’t a fit for our needs. When I explained that we had found a local company that offered a more tailored solution without the extra costs, \[sensitive content hidden\] responded by speaking negatively about that company. Ironically, when I asked the other provider about Hostaway, they only had respectful things to say. That contrast spoke volumes. After requesting to cancel, I received a string of increasingly pushy emails from \[sensitive content hidden\] , repeatedly trying to convince us to stay with additional discounts. Despite declining multiple times, the pressure continued. The worst part was when \[sensitive content hidden\] crossed a serious line: he privately messaged my mother, spamming her with emotional appeals and attempting to guilt-trip us into signing up. This behavior was unprofessional, manipulative, and completely unacceptable. Overall, this experience showed me how poorly run Hostaway is behind the friendly sales pitch. Our company signed up, attended only the initial onboarding session, and quickly realized the platform was not the right fit for our business. We sent a written cancellation request immediately after our first onboarding meeting, before migrating our operations or fully implementing the software. Although Hostaway later confirmed in writing that our one-year agreement had been waived and that our subscription and account had been fully canceled, we were still billed for two additional monthly subscription fees. We disputed the charges with our credit card company but were unsuccessful. My biggest takeaway is not about the software itself—every PMS works differently and may be a great fit for some businesses. My concern is the contractual commitment and the cancellation process. If you're evaluating Hostaway: Read every contract provision carefully before signing. Ask detailed questions about the cancellation policy, notice period, and billing obligations. Don't assume that discovering during onboarding that the platform isn't the right fit will allow you to walk away without financial consequences. Keep every communication in writing. I wish I had known all of this before signing.
