When I first encountered the need to use 2-factor authentication years ago, a coworker suggested the app. I honestly had no idea how to go about adding services to the app, but I found it really easy to get started. And the app's simple interface means that nothing distracts from the basic functionality.

> **Cons**: Honestly, I haven't had any issues with this app. It does exactly what it is intended to do, and it makes it super easy to add new software logins.

> From the initial installation and setup, to easily adding new software logins via scanning a QR code with the app, I've always found Google Authenticator to be easy to use. I also like that a simple progress circle displays next to all of the logins you have saved in the app so you can clearly see how much time you have until the currently displayed set of codes resets.
