Pros:

Variety of templates and reduces the barrier of entry into the eCommerce space to pretty much nothing.

Cons:

Always looking for smoother, easier, more flexible integrations with our brick and mortar business - Shopify is pretty solid here, but some fields/options do not translate well.

Not for beginners

Comments: My experience with it not so great.
For those that have been using it since the start, I know they love it.
For someone new to the drop shipping business, it’s a hot mess.

Pros:

So many Options, that it has great possibilities

Cons:

The easy of use is painful, like connect this and this and this and this with this. Really annoying

Why use Shopify

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: We have been using Shopify for a number of years, the platform has been stable with no downtime that i can remember. There are lots of plugins which can be used to add extra features and tools.

Pros:

Its easy enough to use, had lots of features and functions that we want

Cons:

Pricing for seats is based on plan level and if you need more you have to move to the next plan which can be quite a jump in expense.

Only for people who are really willing to deal with it

5.0 2 months ago New

Comments: I completely underestimated the time required to manage the shop. Something is constantly changing here or a new update is coming out and you have to check what changes. On the one hand, I understand that this keeps it up to date, but on the other hand, it also loses user-friendliness. Anyone who is willing to delve deeper into everything that goes into it (shipping, taxes, data maintenance,...) will have a lot of fun.

Pros:

The setup is clear and there are many helpful tutorials online

Cons:

That you have to pay extra for useful tools that are required by law (e.g. cookie banners, etc.). This drives up the costs for the shop, which is really difficult, especially in the beginning or for small businesses.

Amazing one stop shop to build an e-commerce store for your small business. To scale up with it up to the point that it becomes too expensive.

5.0 4 weeks ago New

Pros:

Easy to set up, really good templates, but also very customizable. Settings is very well organized.

Cons:

Doesn’t yet support transactions in all different currencies and countries without a third-party plug-in. Translation feature could be better.

Small Business Owner's best friend

5.0 last year

Pros:

Ease of use, robust security, feature rich, clean interface, the app ecosystem.Drag and drop feature. Easy set up of the store by a non technical person. No learning curve. Reliability. The support team is also very helpful.

Cons:

The additional transactional charges above the monthly subscription charge. When we use a bunch of apps, the subscription charges tend to pile up. Costlier as compared to Wordpress. But makes up for it in the ease of use and reliability.

Great for Growing an E-commerce Business with Customizable Options!

4.0 2 months ago New

Comments: Shopify is a solid choice for anyone looking to build and grow an online store, especially those looking for a platform that scales as they grow. It has a range of features to support growth, a supportive community, and a wide range of integrations. Just be mindful of the additional costs as your store expands.

Pros:

Shopify is a versatile platform for building an online store, and it’s well-suited for both beginners and more advanced users. The setup is straightforward, with a vast selection of beautiful, customizable themes that make designing the storefront easy. Shopify’s app marketplace offers many tools to integrate for added functionality—like marketing, analytics, and dropshipping options—that can help scale a business. Plus, the support is responsive and typically helpful, making it a reliable option for maintaining a smooth-running store.

Cons:

While Shopify’s core features are solid, costs can add up quickly. Some key features (such as advanced reporting and certain apps) are locked behind higher-tier plans or come with additional fees, which might not be ideal for very small businesses. Also, the transaction fees can be a downside unless you use Shopify Payments, so it’s worth factoring this into the overall cost.

The Scalable E0co

5.0 11 months ago

Comments: Shopify is robust, reliable and a true game changer in the world of ecommerce. By removing the complexities of traditional e-commerce operations like hosting, bandwidth, security and other backend processes, it democratises commerce and enable users to focus on growing the business rather than spending resources on day-to-day management.

Pros:

Shopify makes starting and growing an ecommerce venture simple and cost-effective while providing scalability and flexibility to grow.

Cons:

Some of the more useful reports and the option to build your own reports are limited to higher plans which can constrain data exploration.

It's Good Not Great

5.0 last month New

Comments: Shopify has been good. However, at times, the website does glitch and becomes unaccessible. I often received error messages. Editing the website has been challenging, as the backend layout is not user friendly. Even the assistance by Google or Youtube is not always helpful.

Pros:

Receiving notifications by email whenever a sale is made.

Cons:

The backend editing of the website is not user friendly.

Pros:

Easy payment options, widely used, reasonable pricing, freedom to completely customize your site

Cons:

It was a little difficult to design your site at 1st. I also had issues with shipping costs initially but it became easier to navigate over time

Shopify Is Still My Favorite

4.0 4 months ago

Comments: I've been using Shopify for years and it's still the platform that I recommend most often to other business owners. The relatively moderate price and functionality of the tool keep me coming back.

Pros:

The recent improvements have made Shopify even more easy to use.

Cons:

I wish the Customer Service was more consistent. Sometimes I get really great solutions to my problems & sometimes it takes several emails to resolve my issue.

If you want to have problems, choose this platform

2.0 10 months ago

Comments: catastrophic, I spent 3 months building a site that I will likely have to redo elsewhere!

Pros:

I really see none in English Or perhaps if you are going to learn coding since their so-called experts constantly leave you alone with problems.

Cons:

If you want a site with just three pages and no interesting features, it might be okay, but as soon as you add the slightest functionality, nothing works anymore. It's a very poorly functioning mess. I made the mistake of thinking, after seeing an advertisement, that I would leave WordPress for a Shopify site and not have to deal with technical aspects anymore, what a mistake! Since I've been with them, I've had nothing but troubles, which I have to solve on my own since their team of experts leaves you alone for days and days, sometimes weeks without helping. Again, I have a bug that causes my site not to be indexed by Google due to a redirection issue. I found the problem after days of searching and have been waiting for 7 days for their technical team to intervene for a beginner's issue that I would have resolved on my former platform in 2 minutes. It's shameful. Shopify lures you in by saying you won't have to manage anything, but once you're with them and encounter a problem, the response is that you need to pay extra to hire an expert for the slightest issue! Definitely do not choose this platform, or you will regret it!

An all-round e-commerce solution

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: We have helped many customers start e-commerce with simple needs, up to solutions with very large product inventory and even complex integrations with external systems (CMS and CRM).

Pros:

With Shopify you can satisfy online sales needs for a small business, with low initial investment and standard needs, up to large systems integrated even with external services

Cons:

The assistance is not always especially reactive and, in the case of highly customized implementations, you have to look for solutions on forums or elsewhere.
