Wonderful experience with Hoxhunt learning journey

5.0 6 months ago

Pros:

Hoxhunt training is a part of our organization. In day to day world every day, we receive many spam, phishing, and malware in our inboxes. Hoxhunt training included great quality testing mail for its users to identify and earn badges. That not only generates learning interest but also provides broader knowledge and competition among members of the organization to see their rank & where they stand in the smart world. In a world full of cyber-attacks this is the most essential training.

Cons:

I am not a great fan of the calculation of the time taken for reporting a Hoxhunt training mail feature, because maybe someone is busy with other activities and might report once he/she has access to mail. In that case, their rank is going down as the time of reporting as soon as a mail is received also getting calculated.

Effective, Fun, and Practical Security Awareness Training

5.0 last month New

Comments: Hoxhunt has been an invaluable tool for reinforcing our company’s security culture. The ease of use, combined with comprehensive and engaging training modules, has made it simpler to keep everyone informed and aware of the latest security threats. It not only effectively reduces risks but also cultivates a proactive mindset around security best practices. Overall, Hoxhunt stands out as a must-have for any organization serious about cybersecurity training.

Pros:

Hoxhunt simplifies the process of keeping the entire team informed about the most recent security policies and best practices. Its interactive and engaging training sessions ensure that security awareness is always a top priority for everyone, making the learning process enjoyable and memorable. The platform's content is consistently updated, and its focus on real-world threats is highly practical.

Cons:

There's not much to dislike about Hoxhunt. If I had to pick something, it would be great to have more customization options for the training sessions. Nevertheless, the "pause training" feature is very helpful in ensuring that no one falls behind, which is a thoughtful touch.

Review of Security Features

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Very good

Pros:

What I like about the software is that it is intuitive to the process in your everyday use of Outlook / emails. There is not alot of steps you need to make. See something, say something etc..

Cons:

Trickery - it's not necessarily bad, just that a couple times I feel like I was duped when either missing an email or deleted knowing it wasn't for me.

Protect your company by protecting yourself

5.0 4 months ago

Comments: It's very positive, I enjoy to use the product since about 5 years.

Pros:

Hoxhunt is a perfect security awareness increasing tool, sending users authentic-looking, but phishing emails, which require immediate actions. The most complicated thing is that emails content can be quite closer to your current situation (e.g. you will have a business trip in couple of days and suddenly receive hotel's cancellation, which was booked for you). So it's not that simple to correctly distinct what is true.

Cons:

Sometimes it can be so "real", so your blood pressure rises. "Your car on corporate parking has been scratched", "You need to pay an additional fee" and so forth.

One small, but incredibly effective, email addon!

5.0 4 months ago

Pros:

I love how Hoxhunt gamifies the concept of phishing scams. It helps keep users aware of scams and does a great job showing users with only similar scores as you. I don't know all of the employees working at my company, but when I do see someone I know around my score, I screenshot it and send it to them. It makes for a good laugh and friendly competition in the workplace. We have even had moments in staff meetings laughing about how someone once again was excited to get an email, but ended up being hoxhunted.

Cons:

I don't have complaints about Hoxhunt. I have submitted feedback on aspects I would like to see differently, and the company actually has changed the aspects I wasn't a big fan of. So at this moment and time, I just enjoy using Hoxhunt.

Hoxhunt seems great at what it does

5.0 6 months ago

Pros:

I mainly interact with Hoxhunt's email phishing simulations. I think that it does a good job of this and many of the simulations resemble more sophisticated email phishing attempts. I think that it is a great training tool in that regard.

Cons:

Initially, the email phishing simulator had no way to configured planned out-of-office time. This led to missed simulations and breaking of streaks and such. This issue has since been fixed though, and that's certainly a positive development.

Hoxhunt - A practical tool to prepare people for real world threats

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Very good. Good training and awareness of potential threats out there and allows me to share those experiences with other non-users of the product (like my parents) on things to watch out for.

Pros:

The simulations of potential cyber threats are an excellent mechanism to help bring awareness to people regarding the options out there. I like the follow up learnings that take place thereafter working through the thought processes behind the threat, how it works and how it is meant to guide people towards making poor decisions. The practical tips on how to deal with these problems then make much more sense because you realise what they were trying to do.

Cons:

Product is fine to use but some of the threat mails are too obvious and need to be tailored better to try and simulate a threat. For example, I work for a company headquartered in Finland. And often the threats that come through are written in the Finnish language. However I am based in South Africa, so I immediately know if an email is a Hoxhunt threat purely because of the language used in the mail as opposed to testing a specific principle / risk / mode of attack.

Easy wat to understand and avoid security threats

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall I think it is fab, just annoyed that my previous employer never used this as it would make things easier and rather fun in spotting possible threat emails.

Pros:

It is easy to use, literally just the touch of a button. Due to the various training emails that are sent it really makes you understand the different ways in which security issues and threats can come about. This helps and makes you think when you get a lot of emails through to really watch out for those that look innocent enough but really could be something else. It is now a habit when I am not expecting something and it looks unusual or a bit too good to be true just to press the button for some assurance to check.

Cons:

To be honest there isn't anything I don't like about it. As it is so easy to use and incorporate into your daily working life, it doesn't cause any issues.

Hoxhunt - Would Recommend!

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: Hoxhunt provides a valuable and effective cybersecurity training solution for organizations. Its interactive approach to simulated phishing attacks and personalized feedback help users develop a stronger awareness of cybersecurity threats.

Pros:

Hoxhunt's engaging approach with realistic simulated phishing attacks stands out. It immerses users in real-world scenarios, providing personalized feedback to improve cybersecurity skills. The platform offers diverse training modules and resources, making it a comprehensive solution for organizations.

Cons:

If users don't fully participate or treat the simulated phishing attacks as a game rather than a learning opportunity, the effectiveness of the training may be diminished. Additionally, while Hoxhunt provides valuable feedback and training, it may not completely eliminate the risk of successful phishing attacks, as attackers continually evolve their tactics.

Comments: My overall experience has been great. i have enjoyed the trainings provided and greatly improved my cyber awareness.

Pros:

I love using the product. It greatly assists in our awareness of phishing scams and other cyber criminal activities. It give you real life example in a live environment which is great. It teaches one to be ever observant as malicious email can arrive at any time. It teaches one a great deal on how to protect oneself and the company.

Cons:

I paused the trainings during my holidays but it continued to send them and marked that I had missed the emails which was not the came. All other aspects were great.

Great tool for awareness training

5.0 6 months ago

Pros:

Easy to report a suspicious email. Some emails are very obvious to be fake but some have also been quite believable. Nice to have some tips, and to be able to review my HoxHunt history. Fun achievements. A password challenge with useful tips.

Cons:

I would wish for more frequent emails - it would also help remembering to set vacation mode when leaving for a longer period of time, and avoid lost progress due unreported messages. Missing a feature: In our company, we have statistics per country, and I would appreciate to see more detailed information, not only success rate. There should be also statistics on failed emails with a separation between training emails where user has clicked on something, and where email was missed (as it disappears after some time). Only one challenge available.

Hoxhunt keeps me on my toes

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: I have enjoyed using Hoxhunt to learn more about spamming and phishing tactics that scammers can use to steal your money or your identity. Using it the past 18 months has made me more aware of not only my work email buy my personal email accounts as well.

Pros:

The product is easy to use and it keeps me wary of possible spam/phishing attempts. Any time I see something suspicious now, I make sure to click on the Hoxhunt button in Outlook to double check it's validity. The learning pieces are fun and it adds a competitive nature to what otherwise might seem like a boring training.

Cons:

I'd like to see the product continue to evolve with the way they are trying to trick you. I see that a lot of the "hoxhunt" emails come from the same people within our company and since we rarely receive emails from those employees, they are relatively easy to spot.

Hoxhunt user

5.0 6 months ago

Comments: My employer rolled this out as a training intervention to increase staff awareness for email/phishing scams and security risks. I was sceptical at first how effective it would be, but can honestly say that after maybe 6 months of using it, it as been a completely positive experience. Its a clever way to change user behaviour when assessing incoming emails, and to provide on-going light touch but effective training in this area of identifying scams and phishing type emails.

Pros:

It has completely and positively influenced my responses to certain emails, and made me much more mindful about what the warning signs can be of scammers or phishing type emails.

Cons:

Occasionally the email requests look so genuine it can take some time to review them, and decide to report them, but that's the whole idea I suppose!

Must have for corporations and employees

5.0 2 years ago

Pros:

It makes one aware of the evolving methods of the attacks used. Keeps you informed and also allows to report potential threats which help organization keep the networks and data safe. In today's business environment it is very important to have data protection. Most of "learning emails" are skipped by users but with Hoxhunt users directly get involved and can understand in real time how much careful and aware they have to be not just while using the organization email but their own personal stuff as well.

Cons:

More stimulation emails as the user progresses up the level.

User Experience

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: My overall experience is good and satisfying. The idea of creating awareness through such simulations gives a feel like we are playing some game and it motivates us to play more.

Pros:

The simulated email educates us to understand and differentiate actual threats.

Cons:

Sometimes, it feels like the simulated emails are revealing and easy to identify. In my opinion, it is mainly because of the topics chosen.

Hoxhunt phishing simulation feature

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Fantastic tool for end user awareness. The weakest point in security are users, so, teaching them on how to handle and how to securely use IT devices is necessary.

Pros:

The hoxhunt phising simulation is a great functionality that provides great phishing simulation. The phishings are really realiable and easy to be phished, which is very important. Many phishing emails are really relatable to the environment we're inserted and they could trick on you easily. Hoxhunt plugin for Office is marvelous, making it easy to report. Once the tool is based on gamification, it makes you want to report all phishing emails, encouraging us, the players, to report more and more. Mini trainings on the platform is good, once it encovers the critical points around end-user security, such as strong passwords, how to detect phishings and others.

Cons:

None at the moment. I really enjoy the platform.

Fun and interactive way to check for spam and phishing emails

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Overall Hoxhunt has caused my team and I to be paranoid (in a good way) about suspicious emails. It's fun and interactive and integrates really well in our Outlook app. All we need to do is click a button to check if the email is part of Hoxhunt training or to report it as malicious, spam, or phishing.

Pros:

Hoxhunt has trained me to be very cautious when opening emails from unknown senders. It's actually fun and very easy to use (one-click button to report). By sending examples to your real inbox, it's very effective in training users to be suspicious of malicious emails.

Cons:

The dashboard will show you if you missed Hoxhunt emails or clicked on malicious emails, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't actually show you which email you missed.
