Great for casual users, power users, and developers
Comments: 25+ years as power use and Word developer
Pros:
Unparalleled range of features and extensibility.
Cons:
The document object model does have a concept of pagination, making it hard to write code to say "go to page three and include this content." I realize that this is something that would only annoy developers and not a typical user.
Alternatives Considered:
Good document writing software
Comments: I use it daily and have tried other alternatives but word is by far the best.
Pros:
I like that it has online and Desktop and mobile apps Lots of different font options simple and clean layout
Cons:
When subscription is through corporate account you need to constantly sign in again and again to use
Okay product, but for single users, it's quite pricy
Pros:
An okay product which requires a paid plan to get the most out of
Cons:
Inability to copy stuff if not on a paid plan.
Word Up.....fast
Comments: This is the complete word processing application that always works smoothly. The overall cost of the software is a little higher than i think should be asked but all in all it is well worth every penny when you save time and headache in the long run.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is an all in one, easy to use, professional and feature rich word processing application that never lets me down and gets the job done quickly and beautifully.
Cons:
I dont like the selection of fonts provided by microsoft. I had to download some of my own and added them manually.
It works but is awkward in formatting
Comments: I started using it by default. WordPerfect was better but Word was universal and all secretaries came in knowing only word, so we eventually switched
Pros:
it works and it is in virtual universal use
Cons:
some features are awkward to use- some formatting commands just mess things up.
Word Review
Comments: The overall experience has been great. It is a enhanced easy to use platform
Pros:
What I like the most about Word is it is designed very nicely and is easy to use. I also like the thesaurus option it has, Google Docs does not have that
Cons:
I don't like that it does not autocorrect and fill in commonly misspelled words. You have to click every word you misspelled and hit the suggestion or the right word.
Word Simplicity
Pros:
Easy to use for reports, letters, small tables, and so much more. I love the auto spell check and the automatic saving so I do not lose work. Citing references is also a breeze with Word's simple to use process.
Cons:
There are many addons that you can use but I found removing some were very difficult or just would not go away.
Long-running standard
Comments: I’ve been using Word for decades. It continues to be the standard platform for documents and I anticipate that not changing.
Pros:
Ease of access, standardization, easy to follow set up.
Cons:
The new editor is getting a bit out of hand. My audiences know sweet words and I don’t need the software to suggest otherwise.
Universally Recognized Around The Globe
Comments: It is the universal document processing software. It’s used worldwide, and widely understood by most everyone.
Pros:
The ability to send documents and see whether or not they’ve been received or opened.
Cons:
It can be a tad expensive to acquire for Macs.
I still prefer Google Docs!
Comments: Overall, Microsoft Word is easy-to-use. My experience was with the cloud version of Microsoft Word. I have gotten used to Google Docs, making Microsoft Word seem a little "behind." I would rather convert a .Dox to a Google Doc and edit than to edit in Microsoft Word!
Pros:
Microsoft Word via cloud makes it create and share important documents. As a Google Docs user (and fan), Microsoft Word has comparable capabilities. Easy to integrate with other software!
Cons:
I found that it Microsoft Word has a slower syncing time than Google Docs. It feels like there is a slight lag and that it is harder to collaborate in real time on a shared document. I also fine One Drive had the same issue. I would have a hard time finding the most recently saved Microsoft Word Documents.
MS Word is the leading Word Processing app and familiar to most users.
Comments: As the company admin, MS Word is often the most familiar application for users. It's been around forever and most users have some familiarity from previous employment or school. Getting users to work with it in cloud form is not a difficult transition.
Pros:
Whether or not you are a Microsoft user, Word is a necessity for word processing. It is universally recognized as the industry standard. I have used MS Word for over 30 years and it continues to improve.
Cons:
I have no complaints about Word. It continues to get better.
Can never go wrong with word
Comments: You can easily update your work. It can be used for a variety of things. It is easy to use and have a bunch of features. Co-workers can also edit and share via the cloud. We use it for so many different things: Agendas, notes, letters, notice responses, door signs, list, etc.
Pros:
What I like about word is that you can easily update your work and your co workers can also update the same thing if needed. It is easy to use and we utilize it everyday for a multitude of things.
Cons:
Not a whole lot to not like about it other than maybe all the features can be overwhelming if you are not familiar with it.
Efficiency and versatility
Comments: I use extensively for creating, editing, and formatting documents across various projects and tasks.
Pros:
its user-friendly interface and powerful features
Cons:
its occasional complexity especially for new users who may find advanced features
Microsoft Word is Familiar as a Friend
Comments: Overall, despite some tabs, it is still user-friendly and easy to navigate for basic task. Compare to other tools, this one is familiar to senses and looks good to users when it comes to editing. Choice of color for the tool itself is not hurtful to the eyes, especially when you are in need to look at the document for a very long time.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is easy to use. New user friendly and feels familiar to senses, making it easy to learn to navigate. I like that it has auto-correct and you can use it without having to use another AI program to assist you with grammar and sentence building.
Cons:
Some of the tabs for further editing needs further studying for navigation like the picture editing or column insert, some of the function on this part is not obvious. You'd need to further dig in to learn.
An excellent application but too complicated to use.
Comments: It's familiar to me because I've been using it for a very long time, but even so, it is still tough to use because it's not user-friendly.
Pros:
It's a standard for word processors, so anyone in the world will be able to read your documents using Word or many other compatible applications.
Cons:
Sometimes it isn't easy to achieve the desired results, especially with formatting. In my opinion, Word has a very steep learning curve.
Microsoft Word: changes in live time
Comments: Overall I am very happy with Microsoft Word. The ability to host documents on the cloud allows for live changes to be made between users. This is collaborative and efficient.
Pros:
The ability to work share documents with colleagues makes editing, commenting and publishing a really satisfying experience.
Cons:
The limited ability to format and integrate graphics from other programmes.
A User-Friendly Guide
Comments: Overall experience with Microsoft Word is like amazing
Pros:
In Microsoft Word I liked the most is Collaboration tools in Microsoft Word enable real-time editing, document sharing with customized permissions and also integration with cloud services.
Cons:
I am using Microsoft Word from more than a year, I personally like this!
A writer's best friend
Pros:
Microsoft Word stands out as an indispensable asset for document management and composition. The Dictation function is particularly noteworthy, offering a convenient alternative to typing by converting speech to text, thus facilitating a more efficient workflow. Furthermore, the Quick Parts feature is a significant time-saver, enabling the quick insertion of pre-saved text into new documents. These features underscore Microsoft Word’s utility as a sophisticated and user-friendly tool for a wide range of writing applications.
Cons:
While there’s not much to dislike about Microsoft Word, if I had to pick something, it would be that sometimes it has more features than one might need for simple tasks. But overall, it’s a comprehensive tool that I find quite likable and useful.
Good office tool with the usual behaviors from MS.
Comments: Overall, I think it is a good tool with the usual behaviors which Microsoft has accustomed us, but very necessary tool for your daily work.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is the most used tool for your daily documents. What I like the most is that I can share any copy of old or new documents among people and they will be able to open it from their Word or any other tool as this is a very popular application.
Cons:
I do not like some behaviors like when you make a copy of a document and rename it to a different title, and after doing some changes, sometimes I receive a message telling that a new author made changes and it will save a different copy. I am also disappointed that some features are not user-friendly and you have to search in google, how to fix something that it should be easy to fix.
Spread the Word about Microsoft Word
Comments: Microsoft Word is one of my favorite software to use when it comes to the document writing with some improvements on what you can add to it. It gives volume to the document and makes it more vibrant as compared to earlier version of the software.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is one of the best software for writing documents with ease. I have been using Microsoft Word for more than 20 years now and I can see the development of the software over the years.
Cons:
The thing that I like the least about Microsoft Word is the insertion of images and how it wraps with the written document. The selection are a bit confusing at times so you are required to do trial and error to get your desired results.
Easy to use word processor
Comments: Overall the experience has been a positive one
Pros:
Very easy to use word processing software. Simplistic design and does everything required.
Cons:
Sometimes when formatting a document from a PDF or other tool it does not align and writing can go in the wrong place, and then it is difficult to get it to the right place
Will never use anything else
Comments: Overall, I would never use anything else. Beside all the different documents you can create with Word, I really like the integration with One Drive so I can access my documents anywhere. Using Word is so easy and useful in my personal and professional life.
Pros:
I enjoy using Microsoft Word because of the all the different documents that you can create. Letters, resumes, essays, newsletters, cards, etc. The list goes on and on.
Cons:
I have a love/hate relationship with the autosave feature. Sometimes I am so thankful and then when I open a document to use as a template and make changes, it autosaves when I should have saved a copy first. Overall, that is a user error and not a Microsoft issue.
Why use Microsoft Word
Comments: You will not want to look anywhere else once you have used Word. Everyone uses Word and if you send documents via email you will most likely find it harder for others to view if you are not using Word. To put it simply, it's the best in class.
Pros:
Microsoft Word is the only word processing software you will need. It's easy to use and it gives you tones of options and templates to use. You can input pictures and tables. It makes your work processing easy and professional.
Cons:
I do not have anything bad to say about Word. It is the best in it's class.
Easy to Use and Navigate
Comments: Overall I really enjoy using Microsoft Word. It’s easy to navigate and find what I need. The available templates are great to help build the foundation for some of my content creation. All of the features are intuitive and easy to customize.
Pros:
I like the ease of use and navigation. Users do not need to be expert level to generate their content and make it look appealing.
Cons:
I dislike when a word is marked as incorrect grammar but it is a name or noun with a unique spelling. The only option that pops up is “ignore once”, I click it and then a few minutes later the grammar line is back on the same word. I have utilized the “add to dictionary@ function however it sometimes doesn’t seem appropriate to add unique names or nouns to my dictionary especially if I’m only using it once.
Microsoft Word Review
Comments: My overall experience with word is excellent and I feel very comfortable using Word for all my documentation needs.
Pros:
I like how universal Microsoft Word is to most professionals and its ease of use.
Cons:
I dislike that when I get a new computer it can sometimes be difficult to get access back to use Microsoft Word.
